1. Agreement

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of buildrlabs.ai and your enrolment in any BuildrLabs programme (the "Programme"). By using the website, submitting an application, or enrolling, you agree to these Terms.

BuildrLabs is the EdTech arm of HatchWorks, operating from 14 Sir Baron Jayathilaka Mawatha, Colombo 01, Sri Lanka. References to "we", "us", or "our" mean BuildrLabs.

2. What We Provide

BuildrLabs delivers in-person, cohort-based bootcamps in agentic AI and adjacent technologies. Each cohort includes:

  • A fixed-week curriculum covering LLMs, agents, retrieval, MCP, DevOps, and deployment.
  • Saturday in-person sessions at Hatch Works, Colombo (4 hours per session).
  • Two capstone projects: a solo agentic application and a multi-agent system.
  • Demo Day in front of our partner companies and the Priority Placement Pathway introduction process.
  • Access to the BuildrLabs community and the Hatch ecosystem during the Programme.

Curriculum, instructors, and session schedules may evolve between cohorts. Material changes within a running cohort will be communicated in advance.

3. Eligibility & Application

  • You must be 18 or older and legally able to enter a contract under Sri Lankan law.
  • You must complete the application at /apply/ truthfully. Material misrepresentation is grounds for rescinding an offer or terminating enrolment.
  • Submitting an application is not an offer of admission. We review applications and respond, typically within 24 to 48 hours.

4. Tuition & Payment

Cohort 1 tuition is LKR 150,000. Where instalment plans are available, they may carry a small administration uplift (e.g. LKR 165,000 split or LKR 180,000 over instalments). Current pricing is published at /pricing/ and confirmed in your proforma invoice before payment.

By enrolling, you agree to:

  • Pay the full agreed amount per the schedule in your proforma invoice.
  • Make payments to the BuildrLabs (HatchWorks) bank account named in your invoice. No cash payments at the venue.
  • Cover any bank fees or currency conversion charges on your side of the transaction.
  • Acknowledge that all invoices are proforma until paid in full; tax invoices are issued only on completion of payment.

A seat is only reserved when the first instalment (or full payment) is received and acknowledged in writing.

5. Refund Policy

Day 1 cooling-off window. If you attend the first day of your cohort and decide the Programme is not the right fit, you may request a full refund within 24 hours of that first session. Email sales@buildrlabs.ai. Refunds are processed within 14 working days to the original payment source.

After Day 1. All payments are non-refundable. This includes withdrawal, deferment, partial attendance, and termination for cause (see section 8).

If we cancel a cohort outright before it begins, you receive a full refund or the option to roll your payment into the next cohort.

6. Priority Placement Pathway

Every student who meets the eligibility criteria gets first-look introductions to our partner companies after Demo Day. This is an introduction pathway, not a job guarantee.

The Pathway includes:

  • Inclusion in our Demo Day presented to partner hiring managers.
  • Priority introduction (before public market) to partner roles you match.
  • Coaching on portfolio, GitHub, and interview prep during the second half of the Programme.

Eligibility requires completing the Programme, both capstones, and Demo Day. The Pathway does not constitute an offer of employment or any guarantee of a particular role, salary, or timeline. Partner hiring decisions are made independently by each company.

7. Code of Conduct

BuildrLabs runs inside Hatch Works alongside founders, engineers, and other learners. Standards we expect from every student:

  • Treat instructors, peers, staff, and Hatch members with respect.
  • Attend sessions on time and engage in good faith.
  • No harassment, discrimination, or behaviour that creates an unsafe environment.
  • Do not record, screenshot, or share session content without instructor permission.
  • Respect confidentiality of any partner-company information shared during introductions.
  • Comply with Hatch Works venue rules at all times.

8. Termination

We may terminate your enrolment without refund for material breach of these Terms or the Code of Conduct, including repeated absence without notice, harassment, academic dishonesty, or unlawful behaviour on Hatch premises. We give written notice and a chance to respond before terminating, except where immediate removal is required for safety.

You may withdraw at any time. Refunds beyond Day 1 are not available (section 5).

9. Intellectual Property

  • Our content — the curriculum, slides, recordings, written materials, and the website are owned by BuildrLabs or our licensors. You may use them for your own learning during and after the Programme. You may not redistribute, resell, or publish them.
  • Your projects — you own the code and work you create during the Programme. We may showcase your projects on the website, Demo Day, marketing materials, and partner introductions, with attribution. Tell us in writing if you want a specific project excluded.
  • Trademarks — BuildrLabs, Buildr Labs, the orange wordmark, and related marks are ours. Partner logos belong to their respective owners and are used under permission.

10. Disclaimers & Liability

The Programme and website are provided "as is". We do everything we reasonably can to deliver a high-quality experience, but we make no warranty about outcomes — including but not limited to placement timelines, salary outcomes, or career progression after the Programme.

To the maximum extent permitted by Sri Lankan law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Programme is capped at the tuition fees you have paid us. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the Programme, our partners, or applicable law evolve. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. For students inside a running cohort, material changes will be notified in writing and will only apply to your remaining time on the Programme.

12. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Any dispute arising under them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Colombo. We prefer to resolve issues by talking first — email sales@buildrlabs.ai with the subject line "Dispute" and we will respond within 5 working days.
